Abstract
The problem of stereocontrol at C-2' in the synthesis of strigol-type compounds is introduced. Experiments are discussed in which mainly met hods from carbohydrate chemistry (stereoselective glycoside formation) are used to control the configuration at C-2'. (C) 1998 Elsevier Scie nce Ltd.
