Abstract
As shown by experiments and simulation calculations, the direct and in direct interactions between fluid dynamics and the regeneration reacti on both have a significant, but quite different impact on the regenera tion behavior. While the outlet temperature is mainly governed by the indirect interactions, i.e. the soot distribution, the temperature ins ide the filter is mainly controlled by the direct interactions, i.e. t he changing fluid properties, Furthermore, the impact of winding struc ture on the regeneration behavior is investigated by a simulation stud y: too, demonstrating that for practical applications filters with com posite windings are the recommended choice.
