Abstract
Recognition of normal vascular variations is tantamount to accurate di agnosis and intervention. The authors describe an unusual course for t he common carotid arteries that was incidentally identified on routine cervical spine x-ray films. The embryonic events leading to this norm al variant are reviewed.
