Vv. Demchenko et al., THE EFFECT OF A HF ELECTRIC-FIELD ON THE PROPAGATION OF AN ELECTROSTATIC WAVE IN A NONUNIFORM PLASMA WAVE-GUIDE, Physica scripta. T, 57(3), 1998, pp. 442-446
An analytical study of the reflection of an electrostatic wave propaga
ting along a magnetized nonuniform plasma slab subject to an intense H
F electric field is presented. It is found that when the frequency of
the incident wave omega(g) is close to the electron plasma frequency o
mega(Pc), the plasma is less reflective due to the presence of the HF
held. On the other hand, for a low-frequency incident wave (omega(g) s
imilar to omega(Pi)), the reflection coefficient is directly proportio
nal to the amplitude of the HF field.
