Vn. Bakunin, PARTICIPATION OF REVERSED MICELLES IN THE INHIBITION OF HIGH-TEMPERATURE OXIDATION OF PENTAERYTHRITOL ESTERS, Petroleum chemistry, 37(5), 1997, pp. 452-456
By electrophysical methods it has been shown that potassium-containing
compounds, which, mixed with aromatic amines, exhibit synergism in th
e inhibition of high-temperature oxidation of esters, form reversed mi
celles when dissolved in pentaerythritol esters. The critical concentr
ation of micelle formation is in good agreement with the content of po
tassium salt that is most effective in high-temperature oxidation. A s
cheme of the participation of reversed micelles in the inhibition of h
igh-temperature oxidation of lubricants is proposed. (C) 1998 Elsevier
