Abstract
Interactions at the interfaces of pigment/film former/solvent/additive have been examined to provide information associated with practical p oint systems. Emphasis has been placed on the value of inverse gas chr omatography (IGC), dispersion realisation and electrophoretic mobility studies. It is clear that each species contributes to the behaviour o f the complete coating, largely on the basis of its Lewis acidic chara cter or its Lewis basic character.
