We present analytical and numerical results about the scaling properti
es at short times and small length scales of the stochastic version of
the stabilized Kuramoto-Sivashinky equation (SSKS) in 1 + 1 dimension
s. recently considered to model the slow compact growth in electrodepo
sition. By using the linearized fluctuation theory we obtain several r
elevant quantities related to the scaling properties. We compare these
results with numerical simulations and find that the SSKS equation ha
s an anomalous scaling behaviour. Copyright (C) 1998 Elsevier Science
