Abstract
The method of projection, proposed in Part I, is applied to derive sha rp moment bounds for the expectations of order statistics based on ind ependent samples From restricted families of distributions. Three fami lies are considered: lire distributions with decreasing failure densit y, decreasing failure rate, and symmetric unimodal ones. The respectiv e bounds are also numerically compared with those for general populati ons in both the dependent and independent cases. (C) 1998 Academic Pre ss.
