Abstract
In the USA, vast sums of money are spent on health care. A percentage of this cost relates to the management of medical technology. In this article the authors consider the Management of Medical Technology (MMT ) as an area for academic pursuit. They consider it as a new field, a complex area of research, education and practice which they have endea voured to bring to the attention of academics and practitioners.
