The base-catalyzed hydroarsination reactions of (H3CC=CPPh2)Mo(CO)(5)
and [H2C=C=CH(DBP)]Mo(CO)(5) (DBP=dibenzophosphole) give several diffe
rent products as a function of reaction conditions. These products hav
e been characterized by elemental analyses, physical properties, H-1,
C-13{H-1}, and P-31{H-1} NMR spectroscopy, and, in two cases, X-ray cr
ystallography.
