Neutron nuclear data of stable mercury isotopes (Hg-196, Hg-198; Hg-19
9; Hg-200; Hg-201, Hg-202 and Hg-204) have been evaluated in the energ
y range of 10(-5) eV similar to 20MeV. Evaluated quantities are the to
tal, elastic and inelastic scattering, capture, (n,2n), (n:3n): (n,p),
(n,d), (n,alpha), (n,np): (n,na) reaction and gamma-ray production cr
oss sections, the resonance parameters, and the angular and energy dis
tributions of emitted neutrons and gamma-rays. The evaluation is mainl
y based on nuclear reaction model calculations. Statistical-model calc
ulation played a significant role in the determination of the reaction
cross sections. The evaluated data have been compiled in the ENDF-6 f
ormat, and are used for the design study of a mercury target system pr
oposed at the Neutron Science Research Center, Japan Atomic Energy Res
earch Institute.
