Abstract
Blood flow within the major arteries supplying the brain can be studie d with transcranial Doppler sonography, a noninvasive, portable proced ure. We describe the technique of examination, as well as indications in children and adults such as the investigation of intracranial steno sis, collateral pathways, vasospasm, cerebral emboli and arteriovenous malformations.
