We report three cases of synovial sarcoma strictly located in the musc
les. Synovial sarcoma generally arises in the vinicity of joints, tend
on sheaths, bursae, fascia, and ligaments. Strictly intramuscular loca
tions are not well known and not discribed in the literature to our kn
owledge although they seem to be frequent. The different characteristi
cs on the radiographic examinations are non specific, and this locatio
n may be missleading. MRI is considered the procedure of choice for st
aging this tumor and to visualize soft tissues and bone invasion. CT s
cans may be useful in detecting more specific small calcifications.
