DIVERSITY EVALUATION OF WHEAT GERMPLASM RESOURCES IN CHINA

A great number of wheat genetic resources are distributed in China, an d more than 40,000 accessions have been conserved in the National Crop Gene Bank. The diversity of these wheat genetic resources was evaluat ed for the following fields: distribution areas and growth environment s; collection status; genetic diversity in agronomic characters, grain quality, resistance to diseases, pests and environmental stresses, an d crossability. According to the results of diversity evaluation, some collections with desirable characters have been obtained.
