C. Vlase et al., BETA-LACTAMASE INHIBITORS FROM THE SULBAC TAM CLASS - I - STUDIES ON THE SULBACTAM SYNTHESIS WAYS, Revista de chimie, 49(2), 1998, pp. 96-101
The experimental studies worked our in order to get an optimum method
for the sodium sulbactam synthesis, i.e. a beta-lactamase inhibitor wi
dely used in bacterial infections therapy is presented. Two this end t
he sodium sulbactam synthesis was tested in two variants using the 6-a
mino-penicillanic acid and penicillin G, respectively, as row material
s. The experimetal results showed As the optimum variant the synthesis
from the 6-amino pencillanic acid; this is the procedure the reaction
conditions to obtain the maximum yields and high purity for the inter
mediates involved in the synthesis and, implicitely, a low cost for th
e sodium sulbactam, of a corresponding quality to the International Ph
armacopoeas, were set for.
