razil, is reported for the first time from Bolivia. 104. Campylopus el
ongatus Brid., a species erroneously recorded for Europe is identical
with Pilopogon guadeloupensis (Brid.) J.-P. Frahm. 105. Campylopus hol
omitrius (C. Mull.) Jaeg. is a superfluous name for Campylopus capilla
ceus Hook. & Wils. These names were used to characterize a species whi
ch occurs in New Zealand around fumaroles. The type is, however, ident
ical with Campylopodium medium (Duby) Giese & J.-P. Frahm. The name Ca
mpylopus lonchochaete C. Mull. has to be used for the species growing
in geothermal areas. 106. Campylopus nietneri (C. Mull.) Jaeg. is syno
nymous with Campylopus fragilis (Brid.) B., S. & G. subsp. goughii (Mi
tt.) J.-P. Frahm. 107. Campylopus thwaitesii (Mitt.) Jaeg. is identica
l with C. controversus (Hampe) Jaeg. and recorded for a second time fr
om Sri Lanka. 108. Campylopus gaudichaudii Besch. is identical with C.
savannarum (C. Mull.) Mitt. 109. Campylopus carolinae Grout, a specie
s formerly known from Brasil and SE-North Amerika, is recorded for a s
econd time from Africa.
