Abstract
A case of flexion contracture of the elbow resulting from thrombophleb itis is described. Thrombophlebitis is a recognised complication follo wing cannulation of the antecubital fossa vein. Insevere cases a tende r fibrous band is palpable. There are no previous reports of a contrac ture deformity occurring from such a fibrous band. This case therefore presents an unusual clinical manifestation of thrombophlebitis not pr eviously described.
