Ternary orthophosphates of zirconium, samarium, and alkaline-earth ele
ments (MSmZr)-Sm-II(PO4)(3) (M-II-Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba), Sr0.5(1+x)SmxZr
2-x(PO4)(3), and Sr(2.5-1.5x)SmxZr(PO4)(3) were prepared. The concentr
ation and temperature conditions of occurrence of the NZP structure in
these series of orthophosphates were studied by various physicochemic
al methods (XRD, IR spectroscopy, and DTA). The thermal expansion of S
r1.5Sm2(PO4)3 in the 20-800 degrees C range was investigated by high-t
emperature X-ray diffraction analysis.
