Abstract
Reproportionation of Np(IV) and Np(VI) in 0.025-4.0 M LiOH is studied. The reaction occurs over the entire range of LiOH concentration studi ed, with the equilibrium constant varying from 5.0 in 0.5 M LiOH to 72 in 4.2 M LiOH. The formal potential of the Np(V)/Np(IV) couple in 1.0 M NaOH is estimated at 0.130 V.
