Abstract
Smokes based on phosphorus-white as well as red, constitute a very imp ortant class in the family of smokes, which are used for screening tro op movement, signalling, marking position on sea, as a spotting aid ac id also IR countermeasure for sophisticated opto-electronic instrument using laser, TR sensors etc. Work done so far on formulation and manu facturing/processing of phosphorus based smokes has been reviewed.
