Abstract
We summarize a mathematical theory for direct activation and defibrill ation of cardiac tissue. We show that the direct stimulus and defibril lation thresholds are likely to be strongly affected by the Sap juncti onal distribution and density, suggesting an indirect experimental tes t of the theory.
