Abstract
The humoral immunological response was investigated in 33 highly pregn ant cows vaccinated with anti bovine herpesvirus-1) vaccine (''Iberol- plus'', Veterinary Department, Zemun) using the method of virus micron eutralization were determined prior to vaccination and revaccination ( 3 weeks after vaccination) as well as during parturition. Titers of sp ecific antibodies to BHV-1 in blood andd colostral serum. Before vacci nation, the antibody titers ranged from 1:2 to 1:32, while at parturit ion they ranged from 1:32 to 1:512 in bloodserum and from 1:256 to 1:2 048 in colostral serum. Antibodies against BHV-1 were also determined in calves from these cows before feeding with colostrum and afterwards at the ages of 2, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 days. Before feeding with col ostrum, these antibodies were detected in 3 calves, but after feeding with colostrum all calves up to the age of 60 days were positive. The highest antibody titers were found in calves at 2 days of and the lowe st values in 90 day old calves.
