Abstract
A possibility has been pointed out that the Lambda particle induces ne w coupling between natural-parity states and unnatural-parity states o f the core nucleus via the Lambda s-p mixing. The two components coexi st energetically, so that the aspect is expected generally in hypernuc lei. Such effect should be taken into account, even when one extracts the Lambda spin-orbit splitting, for example, from hypernuclear struct ure calculations.
