Generalized expectancies about negative mood regulation and differing
abilities to reflect upon and manage emotions were found to predict me
asures of overall coping resource effectiveness among 115 (52% female
and 48% male) undergraduate students. Findings suggest that such meta
perspectives on mood are an important component of effective coping.
