Abstract
A novel, highly convergent, regioselective glycosylation methodology b ased on differences in reactivity between hydroxy groups of a glycosyl donor and an acceptor has been employed for the synthesis of a pentas accharide that is involved in the hyperacute rejection response in xen otransplantation from pig to man.
