Abstract
This work is concerned with the description of ion acoustic fluctuatio ns in electron-ion plasmas relevant to laser-plasma interaction experi ments. A nonlocal closure to the linearized moment equations for the f luctuating hydrodynamic quantities is introduced. These equations are used to construct practical expressions for the dynamical form factor and Thomson scattering cross section, which are valid in the entire re gion of particle collisionality in plasmas with high Z and large ZT(e) /T-i.
