Abstract
An investigation is made of the stability, with respect to small pertu rbations, of one-dimensional stationary localised radiation structures ('laser autosolitons') in a wide-aperture laser with a saturable abso rber. It is shown that an increase in the active-medium gain makes a s tationary autosoliton unstable and gives rise to a pulsating localised structure.
