Abstract
Ph)(2)-9-(eta(6)-(PrC6H4Me)-Pr-iso)-7,9-PtRuB9H11] has a formal close Wadian cluster-electron count, but a nido geometry, whereas -(PrC6H4Me )-Pr-iso)-4,4-(PMe2Ph)(2)-1-4-RuPtB9H9], which does have a close geome try, has a formal sub-close cluster electron count; both compounds are formed in the reaction between [6-(eta(6)-(PrC6H4Me)-Pr-iso)-nido-6 R uB9H13], KH and [PtCl2(PMe2Ph)(2)].
