Abstract
A pseudorandom number generator that was proposed by Luscher and coded in Fortran by James has been accelerated by conversion to integer ari thmetic. At the maximum ''luxury'' level, this results in a doubling o f the execution speed while retaining all its other properties includi ng the portability.
