Abstract
The novel complex hydrides, [HC(Me(2)pz)(3)]Li(BH4) and {[H2C(Me(2)pz) (2)]Li(BH4)} involving the stabilization of LiBH4 with pyrazole (pz)-d erived ligands have been prepared for use as potential new hydrogen so urces for proton exchange membrane fuel cells. The evolution of hydrog en via hydrolysis of these compounds has been investigated. The heats of reaction by hydrolysis of the novel compounds have been measured to be -247 kJ/mol for [HC(Me(2)pz)(3)]Li(BH4) and -268 kJ/mol for {[H2C( Me(2)pz)(2)]Li(BH4)}(2).
