Ps. Pregosin et G. Trabesinger, 2-D NMR-SPECTROSCOPY OF CHIRAL PHOSPHINE COMPLEXES - APPLICATIONS TO PROBLEMS RELATED TO ENANTIOSELECTIVE HOMOGENEOUS CATALYSIS, Journal of the Chemical Society. Dalton transactions, (5), 1998, pp. 727-734
A 2-D NMR approach to elucidating problems of structure and dynamics i
n chiral organometallic phosphine complexes has been suggested. The ex
amples chosen concern geometric isomers and prochiral face selection i
n allyl derivatives, a new bonding mode for atropisomeric chelates, ch
elate ring inversion, phenyl stacking, detecting small quantities of e
xchanging species and recognising equilibrating diastereomers, The met
hodology, which is based on X, H-1 correlation and NOE spectroscopy, i
s shown to be both versatile and potent.
