New data on the geology of one of the poorly studied regions of the Al
tai-Sayan folded area, Kolyvan-Tomsk folded zone (KTFZ), are reported
in the paper. Geodynamic interpretation of the peculiarities of the ge
ologic construction, tectonic structures, and substantial composition
of magmatic complexes is developed using geochemical and geophysical d
ata. It is shown that the KTFZ is a system of plates of the northeaste
rn strike, which overthrust each other in the southeastern direction.
The KTFZ structures are composed of the complexes of vast back-an: bas
in, which was formed in the rear of a large island-are system. This sy
stem makes up the basement of the southeastern West-Siberian plate. Th
e structures of the island-an: type follow the lateral row (from west
to east): outer slope of island are, external accretion are, fragments
of Inter-are trough, internal magmatic are, deep-seated depression, a
nd uplands of the back-are basin. Three geodynamic stages - the island
-arc (D-2-C-1) (C-2-T-2), and postcollisional (riftogenic, MZ) ones -
and corresponding geodynamic complexes have been distinguished. The la
tter are quite reliably correlated with the typical formations of deep
-seated troughs and uplands of back-are basins. The proposed interpret
ation of the history of the geological development of the KTFZ opens t
he possibilities for a new approach to evaluation of the region perspe
ctives on various types of mineral resources.
