Abstract
A quantum kinetic treatment of the transient emission of bulk semicond uctor cavities and of an infinitely extended bulk is presented. The de velopment of the emission is described by the photon Green's function, for which we compare a steady state theory with a kinetic equation ta king into account first derivatives with respect to time and frequency .
