Abstract
The unloading compliance technique has been developed for the crack gr owth fracture resistance (J-Delta a) measurement of a material using c entre-cracked tensile (CCT) specimens. This paper describes and assess es the accuracy of the technique based on the J-Delta a data measured for BS4360 Grade 43A steel. The CCT data are also compared with the re sults obtained using pre-cracked Charpy specimens. (C) 1998 Elsevier S cience Ltd. All rights reserved.
