A way has been suggested to determine the number of fluorescence emitt
ing molecules in heterogenous biological objects. It is based on the m
easurement of the pre-exponential factor (amplitude) of fluorescence d
ecay function. The method has been illustrated by three series of expe
riments on the SR beam station of the S-60 synchrotron of the Lebedev
Physical Institute.
