Using synchrotron radiation (SR), radiation relaxation of electron exc
itations in nominally pure and anion-imperfect corundum crystals subje
ct to irradiation with fast electrons and neutrons was studied. It was
found that the luminescence decay time of F+ centers depends on the s
urrounding defects. New data were obtained on the luminescence decay k
inetics at 290, 380 and 400 nm. the luminescence being due to exciton-
like bodies and complex F aggregate centers.
