Abstract
Rectal excision for non-malignant conditions using a posterior sagitta l approach is described in three patients. The technique allows excell ent exposure of the rectum, meticulous haemostasis, minimal risk of pe lvic nerve injury and accurate reconstruction of the pelvic floor with out the need for drainage.
