Vm. Balebanov et al., THE GELIKS PROJECT - SPACE MONITORING OF THE OCEAN-TROPOSPHERE-UPPER ATMOSPHERE SYSTEM DURING CONDITIONS OF A LARGE-SCALE CRISIS, Earth observation and remote sensing, 14(5), 1997, pp. 823-835
The concept of the 'Geliks' Project is described in brief. Research in
to the kinematic, thermodynamic and electrodynamic relationships betwe
en elements of the ocean-troposphere-upper atmosphere system in crisis
conditions is carried out using an experimental spacecraft (or a syst
em of small spacecraft), equipped with radar, Doppler, radiothermal, I
R and specialized optical instruments. The composition and the prelimi
nary characteristics of the equipment and the basic methodology used i
n planning the experiment are described.
