With the affluence that comes with economic developments and technolog
ical advances, citizens around the world will demand personalized, on-
demand, high-quality information services, which I will call personal
information service (PIS). I foresee that by 2012 A.D., a variety of c
ommunication services, and in particular PIS, will be much more widely
available around the world. To make such services available to the ma
sses, a number of challenges have to be overcome. In this paper, I wil
l address the challenges. I believe that by working together, we can o
btain solutions by 2012 A.D.
