Abstract
Substituted benzoyl hydrazines (1-4) have been synthesised and condens ed with phenylisothiocyanate to yield corresponding thiosemicarbazides (5-8). Cyclisation of 5-8 gave 5-aryl-4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazolin-3-thio nes (9-12) in good yields. Aminomethylation of 9,11 and 12 with formal in and morpholine furnished Mannich bases (13,14,15). Compounds (6-8,1 0-12) have shown promising antileishmanial activity.
