Abstract
About ten years have passed since oil immerse surge arrester elements enclosed in 6.6kV Dole transformers been used. At, present. technical developments are being demanded to judge the soundness of these oil im mersed surge arrester elements by a simple method anti easily judge wh ether these elements can he used or not on site. The authors empirical ly investigated correlation between the insulation resistance and the deteriorated ratio of the reference voltage of these oil-immersed surg e arrester elements. It was found that the deterioration of the oil-im mersed surge arrester elements can be detected by measuring the insula tion resistance by a megger.
