Only catalytic amounts of chiral selenium reagents are necessary to ac
hieve a sequence of methoxyselenenylation and oxidative beta-hydride e
limination of alkenes. Performing this reaction with peroxodisulfates
and various metal salts led to enantiomeric excesses of up to 75%. (C)
