Abstract
In the title compound (6-chloro-3-hydroxymethyl-2,2-dimethyl-5-oxo-2, 3,6,6a-tetrahydro-5H-azeto [2,1-b]thiazole 1,1-dioxide, C8H12ClNO4S), the 2-azetidinone ring is non-planar. The thiazolidine ring has a conf ormation that can be classified as C3, with 2 alpha-CH3 pseudoequatori al, 2 beta-CH3 axial and 3 alpha-R axial. The N atom has a pyramidal b onding arrangement. The structure is stabilized by O-H ... O hydrogen bonds along the direction of the c axis.
