METHANOL-WATER SOLVATE OF N-(1-ADAMANTYL)ACETAMIDE

It has been found that N-(l-adamantyl)acetamide forms a methanol-water solvate, 3C(12)H(19)NO.CH4O.H2O. The acetylamino groups in the asymme tric unit are linked by hydrogen bonds via the methanol or water molec ules. The asymmetric units are linked by hydrogen bonds between acetyl amino groups to form a ribbon. The ribbons are linked by hydrogen bond s between the water and methanol molecules. The conformations of the t hree acetylamino groups with respect to the adamantane moieties are es sentially the same.
