Abstract
160Gbit/s (8 x 20 Gbit/s) soliton WDM signals were successfully transm itted over 4000km with a BER of < 10(-9), by using periodically disper sion-compensated dispersion-flattened fibre with an average dispersion slope of 0.0005ps/km/nm(2).
