Nf. Fell et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF RAMAN SPECTRAL CHANGES IN ENERGETIC MATERIALS ANDPROPELLANTS DURING HEATING, Journal of Raman spectroscopy, 29(3), 1998, pp. 165-172
Raman spectroscopy has been shown to be a useful tool for characterizi
ng neat crystalline explosive samples and for identifying principal co
mponents in many propellant and explosive formulations. This paper rep
orts recent measurements of Raman spectra of explosives and propellant
formulations during bulk heating and recent measurements of laser hea
ting of the samples during the measurement of Raman spectra, The resul
ts of these measurements are important to investigators using Raman sp
ectroscopy to measure vibrational spectra at the surface of burning pr
opellant samples, (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
