Abstract
CH3CF2H was degraded by the photolysis with 185 nm light (185), the ph
otocatalysis with 254 nm Light on TiO2 (Ti0(2) + 254), and the combina
tion of photolysis and photocatalysis (TiO2 + 185). Degradation rate o
f the photolysis was close to that of the photocatalysis. But the phot
olysis produced oxygenated intermediate products, while the photocatal
ysis produced fewer intermediates. Degradation rate was largest with T
iO2 + 185 which was nearly twice as large as that of either 185 or TiO
2 + 254. However the complete mineralization was not achieved by TiO2
+ 185, whereas a nearly stoichiometric amount of CO2 was produced by T
iO2 + 254. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
