Abstract
Data on the content of Hg, Cd, Ph, Cu, and Zn in the liver, kidneys, m uscles, and hairs of Phoca hispida ladogiensis are presented. The dist ribution of metals in the seal organism and peculiarities of their acc umulation depending on sex and age are discussed. Correlations between the contents of different metals in organs and tissues of the seal in dicated that industrial waste waters are the common source of pollutio n of the Lake Ladoga ecosystem.
