We consider the interaction of Hopf and Turing bifurcations in dispers
ive optical frequency conversion systems. Normal form reduction is per
formed to investigate the dynamics of the Hopf-Turing mixed-mode. The
important issue of our analysis is to reveal the predominance of the m
ixed-mode over the pure Hopf and Turing modes. This result strongly co
ntrasts with those of previous studies and opens up new possibilities
for the observation of Hopf-Turing mixed-modes in practical systems. (
