Ma. Abdelghaffar et al., SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC AND ELECTRICAL MEASUREMENTS OF PHTHALOCYANINE POLYMERS, Die Angewandte makromolekulare Chemie, 254, 1998, pp. 1-9
Phthalocyanine polymers, either metal-free or containing the transitio
n elements Cu, Co, Cr and Fe, respectively, have been prepared from py
romellitic dianhydride by the conventional urea fusion method. The pol
ymers were characterized and their structures were confirmed using ele
mental analysis, spectrophotometric measurements as TR, UV-VIS, and XR
D, and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The calculated values of th
e activation energy indicate the semiconducting behavior of the metal-
free as well as the Cu and Fe phthalocyanine polymers within the tempe
rature range 300-523 K. Real part of the relative permittivity (epsilo
n'(r)) for all investigated samples was measured at different temperat
ures as a function of frequency.
